The Hurlingham Club

Like everything at the Hurlingham Club, except the changing rooms in the £14 million indoor tennis and squash centre, you wonder if you ever need to be anywhere else, and it’s certainly slightly unsettling when you have to leave. And the Padel courts are no exception, by installing 3 Italian Padel courts, the Maserati of the padel court, the Hurlingham Club has instantly propelled itself further up its own rankings of unique English clubs.

The club that is regarded as the birthplace of polo, located on the banks of the Thames in Fulham, makes a great location for Padel and made itself  the private members club with the largest number of outdoor padel courts in London in one swing of the mallet. With these massive black structures juxtaposed against the red clay courts, the seemingly endless supply of grass courts and ponds that you want to punt along, you may often stop to consider is it only really 42 acres?

As if to make it an even more tantalising a prospect to get a game there, UK Padel no1 Jorge Martinez joined as coach of the club in mid 2022.

We think the waiting list is around 24 years at the moment unless you have a family member connection, so don’t get too excited about getting a game there soon, but hopefully they will host some events and national competitions as the game of Padel grows. Here’s a link to their website which gives you no indication that padel even exists, just the way we are sure they like it.
