UK PADEL will bring the burgeoning, super-sociable sport of padel to Cornwall’s first coastal aparthotel on the edge of Newquay this October. 5 minutes’ walk from Porth beach and looking out over the ocean from its clifftop location – SeaSpace is rewriting the rulebook for downtime, uptime, free time and holiday time on the north Cornish coast – with community at its heart.
Situated in the gardens, the new five court padel tennis club will be the biggest Padel club to date in Cornwall with three doubles courts and two singles courts.  Two of the double’s courts will be under cutting-edge retractable roofs, allowing year-round play even in inclement weather, and excitingly the two singles courts will be the first such courts in the South-West. Both locals and staying guests will be able to play year-round.
This oceanside open-house aparthotel is gearing up to host coast-loving travellers and like-minded locals, young families, and remote workers, all looking to tap into laidback coastal living – be it for a few hours, days or weeks.
UK PADEL will be pulling a full programme of social padel, events, tournaments, clinics and stay and play holidays and tournaments and will announce member and court pricing offers closer to opening via the UK PADEL app.
Putting freedom front and centre for a new way to stay and play, SeaSpace blends design-led comfort with a laidback, independent spirit. Staying guests can book into one of 56 self-catering spaces, with studios and 2- or 3-bedroom apartments to suit single travellers, couples, friends, families, and groups. Each space has been designed for open plan living, socialising, family time, working, chilling or the whole lot – with a fully-kitted-out kitchen, dining/ work table and lounge area. A host will be on hand to help with everything from practical queries to local tips.
Says SeaSpace CEO, Ben Harper, “SeaSpace will be stepping into new territory, moving away from the conventional hotel and self-catering accommodation models to put freedom and community first – without compromising on quality. We’re enjoying breathing new life into the space and look forward to creating a place where everyone feels like they belong.”
UK PADEL CEO Nick Baker says, “I couldn’t be more excited about taking UK PADEL to this location in Cornwall. Padel is breathing new life into tennis and it’s only fitting that out of an un-utilised tennis court and surrounding area 5 new padel courts will emerge. We can’t wait to work with the SeaSpace team to enhance all year-round community activities, great first class padel holiday packages and events and get playing with the other local padel clubs in the area.”
