Wales’ first dedicated padel centre opened in Cwmbran in January 2022, reducing the travel time for Welsh padel fans to their nearest courts, to portugal by private Jet or to East Gloucestershire by several hours if you factor in the round trip.
The Welsh Padel Centre is a dedicated padel tennis club based at the Woodland Road Sports and Social Centre with two covered padel courts.
David Cornwell, founder of Padel Centres Ltd., said “It’s going well. There’s courts now in Cheltenham, there’s one down in Penarth, they’re building them in Bristol. So it’s growing as a sport. And we’ve of course got the first covered courts in Wales here in Cwmbran.”
