Church Broughton Tennis club

April 2022 saw the opening of a padel courts at Church Broughton Tennis club.

Padel in Derbyshire! The idea came to the club as they had spare space, but not enough room for another tennis courts, and several active members had played padel in Spain they worked hard with the LTA, and secured a £25,000 grant from South Derbyshire County Council, as part of their Community and Environmental partnerships scheme to make it happen.

Take note clubs having courts built, this one look like it was put up in less than one month end to end it was built very swiftly indeed.

They opened with a month  of free padel for all tennis players to try, and they are really pushing the social element of padel here, and they have seen families having fun with mums and dad’s that might not get on the tennis court but can be tempted on to the padel court for fun exercise. There’s also free bat and balls to help anyone get started. What are you waiting for?
