As of the 23rd July 2021 Edgbaston priory club opened its doors to a brand new Padel court.
Padel Tennis is one of the fastest growing sports. It is a mix between tennis and squash with the biggest difference being that the serve in Padel is underarm and that balls can be played off the walls in a similar way as in squash.Â
Edgbaston Priory Club extends a warm welcome to anyone looking to enhance their fitness, play racquet sport and enjoy the company of good friends.
The club offers outstanding facilities including tennis, squash, & racketball gym, fitness classes, indoor and outdoor pools, bar, bistro and family spaces – set in stunning grounds.
The club is a place for the whole family, a place where you can work, rest and play, enjoy a buzzing social events calendar and connect with a diverse range of people.
After a successful six-month trial Edgbaston’s Padel court has arrived and is now ready to book and play.Â
Leyla Ogan and Mike Edwards are both fully qualified Padel Tennis coaches and will be offering free introductory sessions to members available to book on the club’s website:
Padel tennis has arrived at Edgbaston Priory Club
Sessions will vary from week to week dependent upon Mike and Leyla’s availability. Each member is only permitted to book one introductory session.
The club has four rackets available for hire from Reception for £40.00 for the four (refundable upon their safe return).Â
Balls need to be purchased from Reception and cost from £5 a can for training balls.
The Padel Court is also available to try out on the following club sessions:
- All Social Tennis Sessions (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday)
- Family Tennis and Squash Sessions
- Saturday 3pm to 4pm
- Sunday 2pm to 4pm
