In 2007, Skipton Tennis centre all but derelict without a single playable court. In 2018, it won LTA national club of the year.
This award was given in recognition that it is one of the leading clubs in the UK, with regards to being innovative and creative in the approach to ensuring racket sports are accessible for all. In recent years, this mindset has led to the building of a floodlit Padel court.
In creating a fun, inclusive, social environment around Padel, the centre seeks to help people to stay active and keep healthy.Â
In keeping with this, the club works closely with local primary and secondary schools offering tennis and multi-sport programmes from KS1 to KS4. In addition, the club provides very popular holiday camps during school holidays, and coaching has recently become widely available at the club for Padel as well as tennis.
All in all, you would be unlikely to find a more welcoming environment to play Padel in the whole country!
