The Bourne club is a member’s owned club that provides Tennis, squash, badminton and from March 2021, Padel.
They are also starting to get involved in Pickleball, and they do play a little table tennis on the badminton courts as well.Â
The Bourne Club is very close to Guildford, within striking distance of Basingstoke and currently a padel oasis in this part of Surrey. The courts are fully booked all the time.Â
The Padel Court at Bourne Club was the first installation from Pro Padel Courts, a UK based court manufacturer providing end to end British steel and glass and having a word or two with international supply chains, and eco-credentials.Â
Whilst we would say that the pillared courts are particularly useful for new players to padel, giving them an easy reference point to remember where to stand when defending and attacking (last post for defence, 2 post from the net for attacking), these panoramic courts are stunning and are usually put into great locations like Bourne, which is pretty as a picture. Just to add these panoramic courts are now the first-choice courts for clubs like Roehampton, Queens and we are sure many more to come.Â
The Bourne club were quick to highlight that padel is a good all year-round outdoor sport, running major initiatives in the winter months, and importantly allowing members and non-members to book some pay & Play sessions.
We were lucky enough to get a game there the week the court opened and here’s a few pictures from the game we had…
