P – Paquito Navarro

Nov 22, 2021

Paquito Navarro

Paquito Navarro is a professional Padel player, regarded as one of the best players that has ever graced a Padel court.

Navarro made his debut in 2009 but it wasn’t until 2012 that Navarro really staked his claim in Padel as he went on to reach two finals with teammate Adrian Allemandi.

In 2014 he was able to taste true victory, but it was worth the wait as he won the Valencia Masters – beating the world ranked No.1 – with Maxi Grabiel of Argentina.

The Seville-born Padel professional has won a staggering 23 tournaments with his last trophy coming in Santander as both he and Martin Di Nenno had their last dance, the best farewell the duo could have asked for.

The standards never slipped for Navarro who took his professional match tally to 531 matches earlier in the year – winning a staggering 397 games with an overall win percentage of 74.76%.

The year 2022 has seen his form take the smallest of decreases which is possibly natural with age, now a 68.09-win percentage as the Spaniard has won 32 matches out of his 47 this year.

He remains a real fan favourite within Padel due to his showmanship which makes him a real charismatic player, different to many on and off the court.

Renowned for his aggressive complete attacking style despite not being the hardest hitter, Navarro normally locates himself on the left-hand side of the court.

Feared by many – nicknamed ‘the knife’ – is a move where he generated real power to pass his opponent and force a neutral volley at the net to be able to finish the point.

Navarro is a popular figure when it comes to social media – with nearly 500k Instagram followers – he is the most followed Padel player in the sport.  He uses his platform to help document his Padel experiences and gain traction in the sport which was very unusual when he first started out.
